Internet Guitar Lessons and How They Can Help

Internet guitar lessons are one of the most helpful things a budding guitarist could wish for. Not only will you find guitar teachers of varying standard but you will also find teachers that specialise in various styles making the learning process a lot more productive. If you are interested in getting internet guitar lessons then three things you should consider is finding a place that has as many different tutors as possible, finding somewhere that boasts a large community with good testimonials, finding somewhere that doesn't charge per lesson.

User forums and the importance of networking

You may think that finding other people to talk to about guitar playing online may be a waste of time but networking is one of the most important part about making it big in the music industry. Often its who you know not what you know and you never know who could be on the other side of that email. User forums also provide some excellent knowledge on guitar playing that you may not ever find anywhere else. A good forum will teach you on its own without you even noticing.

How many tutors you need

There is no right or wrong way to decide if a website will be worth it or not, just personal preference, and in my opinion you need to getting internet guitar lessons from as many different tutors as possible. Most good guitar tutors will specialise in only one, maybe two styles of guitar playing and if you find a website that has videos and tuition material from various different teachers then you will be getting the best lessons for whatever style you want to learn that day.

Finding the right price

I just want you to think about this for a second. A guitar lesson in your house or at a studio from a seasoned professional would be on average of $30 per hour, and you would get this once per week at a maximum. Online guitar lessons will cost anything from $30-$100 for a subscription service. It may seem like more but that will be for lifetime membership and an infinite amount of lesson material. Its just up to you to decide what approach you want to take.

Finding good internet guitar lessons is by no means the key to becoming a great guitarist. It can just give you a little boost in the right direction. To truly master the instrument you need to practice on a daily basis without fail and try and get as much experience as you can in front of a live audience. Jimi Hendrix didn't become a legend by just sitting in front of a home computer all day (not that they had them in the 60's).
